At The Academy, the school day doesn’t end with the final bell. Kids head to our extended-care room, kick off their backpacks, and settle into a space that feels equal parts clubhouse and learning lab. Some finish homework with a teacher’s quick coaching, others dig into art supplies, chessboards, or a tiny herb garden out back. The thread that ties it all together is our R.A.I.S.E. code—respect, accountability, integrity, service, and excellence. We work those ideas into small moments: a reminder to share paint, a high-five for owning a mistake, a group cleanup that wraps the day. It’s a few extra hours where children stay safe, stay curious, and head home a little more confident than when they arrived.
Before Programs
Early drop-off doesn’t have to feel like a holding pattern. In The Academy’s before-school session, kids arrive to a calm, welcoming space, grab breakfast or a quick game, and ease into the day. Short, hands-on activities—team puzzles, creative challenges, mini STEM stations—get them collaborating and problem-solving before the first bell. It’s a safe, upbeat start that helps confidence and leadership take root long before class begins.
After Programs
When the last class ends, our campus turns into a workshop for budding leaders. Kids tackle projects that call for real choices—organizing a snack drive, directing a skit, coding a simple game—then talk through what went well and what could improve. Along the way they practice clear communication, try out decision-making, and learn to read a teammate’s point of view. By pickup time they’re not just packed up and ready to go; they’re walking out a little more confident about how they can make a difference.
School Break Camps
When school’s out, the adventure moves in. Our break camps turn holidays into mini-expeditions—one week might center on “Backyard Biology,” the next on “Junior Chefs,” and another on DIY engineering. Kids dive into hands-on projects, tackle friendly challenges, and head outside for plenty of fresh-air exploration. Along the way they test new skills, bounce back from trial-and-error, and discover talents they didn’t know they had. The result? A break that feels like play but quietly boosts confidence, creativity, and budding leadership.
Our Curriculum
The Academy’s before- and after-school program gives elementary students a place to recharge, explore, and learn once the regular classes wrap up. We mix homework help with hands-on fun—think LEGO-engineered bridges, impromptu spelling games, watercolor experiments, and team-building challenges on the playground. Weekly themes keep things fresh, while built-in STEM, language, math, art, and community projects spark curiosity and teamwork. It’s a balanced blend of support and play that helps every child stretch their mind, make friends, and head home ready for the next day.
